All-American Husband, Father, Provider, Pilot, Veteran

Robert “Bobby” Bruce Young, 45, left his home on August 13, 2009 outside of Atlanta, Georgia to take a contracting pilot position to fly a jet with MK Airlines in the UK.
Bobby had recently been laid-off from his job in a corporate downsizing and was scrambling to secure work in a tough economic time. He put the word out that he was looking for a job and jumped at an immediate opportunity that paid well. It would take him to London with just a day’s notice. Bobby filed the required international flight plans and was off the next day leaving behind his wife Jenny and young son Christian.
Arriving in London, Bobby had just a day before leaving on his first trip that would take him to the west coast of Africa to Freetown, Sierra Leone. His flight had as passengers a co-pilot, two airline executives from the UK, and two Egyptian business men who owned a fishing business in the country.
Upon landing at the airport, the entire group was arrested for illegally entering the country and was sent to their local “prison.” The official story was that the plane was suspected of smuggling in cocaine and was searched but found nothing. The UK and Egyptian citizens where released, but the Americans were held.
Bobby has attorneys and bail payment provided by the airlines. Our hope and prayer is that he is released soon and not harmed in any way.
Conditions are terrible and beyond imagination there. Officials in the US have been notified and our other hope and prayers are that they can support Bobby’s quick return home in any way.
All of Bobby’s family, friends, and supporters are tremendously thankful to MK Airlines for helping Bobby try to secure his release and for supporting him during this difficult time.
Please keep your prayers for Bobby, Jenny, Christian and their families alive and know that God is stronger than any of this! God loves when we seek Him and wants to hear our cries. He loves to be our Savior in all of our times of need.
